#8: Do yoga at least twice a week for a period of two months
+1 Goal: Do the 21 Day Yoga Challenge
#11: Do every day at least 30 sit ups for a month - 05.01.2013.
Okay, so this is interesting. Three titles. Yes, it means that I am doing three goals at the same time. Because they relate and can be easily combined. Which makes it easier for me and (hopefully) also improves my motivation.
Doing yoga twice a week for at least two months is challenging. You might be wondering, why? It doesn't sound that hard. But I had not done any yoga from the end of Oct 2012. till like last week. You might not know (if anyone ever reads this besides me), but I've been having lots of pain in my upper back/shoulders/neck. All the stress I have (or create for myself) goes to these parts of my body and if I don't exercise, it can cause me lots of pain. Really a lot. And headaches. And migraines. (Possibly, but most migraines are usually caused by things out of my control. Especially, cuz I don't even know when they are coming. )
So imagine this. There is this girl who likes yoga. Not just likes likes, but actually loves. Cuz it's good for her. When she does yoga, it's the only time when her mind switches off, when she can just be in the present moment. Besides that she knows that it's good for her health. Aaaand (here comes the interesting part) she does not do it regularly! Why???? - i'm asking. Well, because she can be such a lazy b*tch. Really. And I'm telling you. I'm not schizophrenic but I'm talking to and about myself. And I still think it's a stupid thing to do. Not to do yoga. So, that's why you can see the first title in this post.
The second one is closely related to this. Two years ago I discovered a website (www.yogajournal.com/21daychallenge/) where - at the beginning of the year - they advertised a 21-day-long yoga challenge. I started to do it twice. I failed twice. When I started to do it yesterday again, I thought I included it in my list. But today I realised I didn't, so I just added it as a plus goal. (Btw, plus goals are good to have, cuz I am sure that I won't do some of the goals I set till the end. Not because I won't have time, but because I will probably not find them interesting enough. People change and it's very much possible that I and my goals will too in nearly 3 years.) So I can just use these plus goals, to get closer to the end result I'd like to reach.
Anyways, I added this one, and this year I intend to stick to it. That's why I decided to write about it and write down the progress. Maybe that will help me to stay on track. (I wanted to do it in a calendar, but first of all I have not bought one, second of all I think this might be more effective and motivating.
The last goal I included here (and started to do it at the same time as the first one) is to do 30 sit ups for a month. I know it's not much and don't worry, I don't have trouble doing so many, I just wanted to have a low number that I will really do every day, even when I really don't feel like it. And on the days when I do, I can easily do more. (That was yesterday for instance, I was counting and I realised that I am way above the number.)
One more thing I wanted to add before I start to keep track of the progress. You (some lost reader finding this site or the future me) might be wondering: what's the point of doing these things for a relatively short period of time and then stopping it? What's the point of proving that I can and then just not doing it anymore. Well, I have read it already in several articles that we form habits in relatively short time. So if you do something for 21 or 28 days (sources differ), it will become a habit. That's what I am hoping for. Well not only hoping for, but intending to test. I know it is going to be hard on some days to get up and do it, but once I need to do this. For myself. So that I know that I can. And more importantly to prove to myself that I have willpower. Honestly, I know I have it, but I tend to dig it under some deep layer of sand or whatever you want to call it. I need to do it, because I want to feel better, I want to have a healthier, leaner, better looking body and I want to be able to do the things I set my mind at. So girl, you like the challenges. It is a relatively easy one, so prove that you can do it! Go ahead! I am with you! :)
So, let's see. I think I will just write down the dates and add every day what I have done.
3. Jan, Thu - 1,5 hour yoga at Do Yoga With Me, 30 sit-ups
4. Jan, Fri - 1. day of the challenge (only doing the intermediate), two other short sessions from other site, 30+ sit-ups

#27: See at least 5 theatre plays/musicals - 08.06.2012.
I am pretty good with this one already. Maybe I underestimated my theathre-going habits. I've been to the theatre 3 times 3,5 months into the project.
On the 1st of April we went to see a play with Kriszta and Eni. It was my idea, I saw a great ad and looked it up. Theatergroup Space is a contemporary formation with a Dutch man and a Hungarian woman being the leaders. We booked tickets for two plays that week. (Normally they have plays in Nl and sometimes in Hungary too. ) It was really great, the second one too.
Update: 03. Jan. 2013.
Although I did not include a ballet here, but it is a similar thing, so here it goes. Last month, actually not much more than a week ago, I and Kriszta went to see a ballet. We saw the Nutcracker by the Kiev Ballet and it was the first for both of us. It was nice, though the story is really for children. I did like the dances though. Hope to have a chance to see the Swan Lake soon, for instance.

#17: Get a massage at least 3 times - 08.06.2012.
1st: 10.May 2012.
As the lady who did my pedicure was also a massage therapist - and as I still had some time to kill - I decided to treat myself for a massage. Well, I am normally not that indulging with myself, but my shoulders and neck were really stiff, so I kinda needed it. And finally I allowed myself to do such a thing that is actually good for me. :)
2nd: 17. Aug. 2012.
It was while working on the ship. We get discounts for the massages. It was good, but only 30 min long, as I didn't want to have a full body massage. Well, I still enjoyed it. :)

#13: Go to the beautician and pedicure specialist at least once in every 6 months - 08.06.2012.
1st pedicure. 10.May 2012. 2nd pedi. 28.Sept 2012.
1st beauty Oct 2012.
I went with mum as it was one of the present for her for mum's day. It was good. I haven't been since 2009 and it is really a good thing to do for your feet. Once I get back from my first trip and earn some money, I will go again. And to the beautician as well :)
03. Jan. 2013.
So, I've been to the pedi in Sept and somewhere in Oct 2012, I've been to the beautician, so did not really manage the every 6 months. And I should be going within 2 month again to make that happen. But keeping up pretty well with the pedi thing. Bought a bonus cupon again, so going again soon!

#7: Try Bikram Yoga - 08.06.2012.
On the 27th of April I went to try Hot Yoga with Szilvi. It was not called Bikram Yoga, but it was the same principle; doing yoga in a heated room. I think the only difference is that Bikram Yoga follows a specific set of asanas and at this yoga centre every lesson is different. (It's not my personal experience though, Szilvi went there more often.) Honestly I didn't really like it. It was too hot and I was feeling very weak a couple of times. I was quite annoyed by the teacher as well. They were giving very strange instructions, that were not used by any other yoga centres I've ever been to. (Like your knees always have to be straightened. Why would I do that, if it hurts my knees?) Anyway, maybe I will try the real Bikram Yoga once, but only when I am good with my simple yoga practice. Otherwise it is just too much. But at least now I know. :)
#3: Get a job that I enjoy more then the present one - 08.06.2012.
At the time when I wrote this list I worked for GE Hungary. I started working there on the 6th of February after graduating in Breda and moving back to Hungary. It was all right, but I knew from the very first day that I will not enjoy doing my day-to-day tasks. Some were interesting, but it was related to finance, which is really not my cup of tea. So I was preparing for an exam, well I should have, but I was just feeling miserable. Instead of studying I decided to look for jobs. I found an interesting opportunity on NHTV's alumni website, but they were specific about the nationalities they were looking for and Hungarian was not included. Such a pity I thought, but I decided to send an e-mail anyway and ask whether they would like to have a qualified Hungary. Apparently they did, but they just were not advertising it on that site. Well, long story short, after a couple of rounds of interviews, a class-room training and a sit-in, I will be ready to start my new job of Program Director/Cruise Leader just withing a week. I will be working for an American cruise ship company GCT/GCCL and lead 40 50+ around on the trip. I am looking forward to see how it is going to be. I really hope that I will enjoy it, cuz it would be quite a nice job to do for a year or two or even three, who knows. Anyway, another goal off my list. :)
#60: Movies starting with the letters of the Alphabet - 31.03.2012.
It's the 31st of March 2012. I have started some of the goals, but haven't been too successful with following them up. I just realised that my 1st month is almost over and I realised that I haven't read an entire book and haven't done yoga at least twice a week. This is not a too good start, but I have been busy with my second month at work and with training as well. I also had to go to doctors' appointments quite often, because of my headaches. I did a 1,5 hours work out today, which was pretty intense, so that's good though. So let's not take it too seriously and just make it a better second month of the project.
So I was thinking that I should just continue reading the book I am reading and hopefully finish it by midnight. But my brother would like to watch a movie together. So I decided to go for that option and start the movie alphabet goal. :) I am going to watch letter E now. Quite curious about this one. Actually I also watched two other movies with him on Thursday, so let's include them in here as well. I will write about these movies tomorrow.
Today it's the 18th of April. Unfortunately I did not watch the letter E at that time, as it was not in Hungarian and my brother could not watch it. But I did watch letter I last Sunday in Amsterdam. I was there for a short weekend and I went to see this movie with Aurelija. We both loved it, I think it's one of the best movies I have ever seen. I should also write a review about this :)
